Last night I attended my first Stella and Dot party, which Tina hosted and our friend Amy served as the Stylist.  What a fun way to shop!  We had about 12 of us drinking wine and all critiquing each other's selections as we tried them on - how perfect!  Now, I rarely spend more than $8 on any item of jewlery, but I have realized as I age that investing in good pieces that stand the test of time isn't a bad idea.  Below are a few of my favorite pieces from the line, though not all are items I could personally pull off!

Yeah for eye candy!  Have a great Friday everyone!

Today I covet the sense of humor this person had when they posted this picture, and can't thank Tina enough for finding it.  Who hasn't thought "I can do that" when they see a neat DIY or baking idea on Martha, a blog, or a magazine...but then this happens...

They definitely nailed it!

Twig & Thistle is one of my favorite blogs to pop in on from time to time, so you can imagine how sad I was to find that she is saying goodbye (but just for now) due to health issues.  I am so glad she is taking time for her, but I will miss her great ideas and beautiful posts.  Please stop by and see her genious ideas and keep her in your thoughts for a speedy recovery.

Here are a few summer inspired photos from her site to encourage you to check her out.

Sweet and Saucy Supply

I am a huge fan of vintage and vintage-looking cake stands and serveware.  Take a look at the display below from Sweet and Saucy Supply.  The presentation is so visually interesting because of the mix of high and low stands and also the unique details of each serving piece.

Sweet and Saucy Supply has a great variety of cake stands.  Just look at this pretty green hobnail stand.

Pink 10" Square Glass Stand

These pink and citrus-colored milk glass stands are simple and sweet.

And this openwork ribbon stand could be used to coordinate with your party theme.  You can just swap out the ribbon!

Today I thought I'd do something different.  I am in a cuddly mood so I thought I'd share some of my most favorite animal photos.  Who doesn't need a little "aw" and "oh" sometimes?  Hang on for some cute overload!

I am feeling very refreshed and sun soaked from this past weekend.  We celebrated the 4th of July at Bass Lake near Yosemite.  We had an amazing time even though it was over 100 degrees every day.  I love camping but I also like to enjoy the finer things in life like a mattress, running water, and flushable toilets.  I started thinking about glamping (glamorous camping).  I found the following to make camping a bit more glamorous!

I love this.....old fashioned, simple, and lovely
notice the real beds?

Great idea - use mason jars to hold silverware then use the jars as glasses

Wonderful centerpiece that is super easy

Turkish bath towels - fast drying, light, and gorgeous
